Words That Will Enhance Your Word Power

What happens when you see a different word ? Would you rather prefer writing down or ending up taking a snap for later. There are a plethora of ways to learn vocabulary; however, it is very complicated to know what word is trendy. As one cannot memorize the whole dictionary. Then, how to be active in terms of new words. Do you know? The students' main tool in their attempt to use English effectively is their vocabulary. Students will always need to use words, whether they are speaking with a native English speaker, watching a movie without subtitles, listening to a favorite English song, reading a text, or sending a message to a friend. To mitigate this problem, a list of words have been mentioned that can be used on a daily basis. Have a glance to be an existing participant in the competitive world !

1. Freebie (noun)- a thing given free of cost as a ticket to a performance or sports event or a free sample at a store. We distributed freebie beverages at the outlet to promote our brand.

2. Probe (verb)- to search into and explore very thoroughly. The bride’s side probed everything in his life before getting into the new relationship.

3. Tedium (noun)- dullness, boredom. Vacations are much needed to relieve the tedium of work.

4. Nimbly (adverb)- swiftly The squirrel leapt nimbly from wall to wall.

5. Tenuous(adjective) - very weak or slight The solutions provided by the manager to overcome the problem were tenuous.

6. Repercussion (noun)- Consequence / result The repercussions of your argument with my brother would be bad.

7. Avert (verb)- avoid by turning away/ avoid He averted the situation and left for his office.

8. Cantankerous (adjective)- bad-tempered , uncooperative. It has been observed that people become a bit cantankerous in their old age.

9. Contention (noun) - an assertion, especially one maintained in argument. Rahul gave strong contention for his views regarding the new project.

10. Penchant (noun) - a strong or habitual liking for something. My siblings never had a penchant for cars.
