Difference between Standard English and Advanced English

Standard English gives the capability to read and review a range of texts. It helps us interact effectively. Advanced English develops proficiency in English and assists to analyze complex text and discuss them in detail. If you speak advanced English, you can easily leave a mark on someone. Let's see the various advanced English sentences.

1.            Standard English: She got married.

               Advanced English: She got hitched.

In the above example the word ‘Married’ is replaced by the word ‘Hitched’ to make it more advanced and effective.


 2.             Standard English: Let’s make things more exciting.

                 Advanced English: Let’s spice things up.

In the above example, the words ‘make things more exciting’ is replaced by the phrase ‘spice things up’. The word ‘spice’ here refers to excitement.


 3.            Standard English: I had a quiet weekend.

                 Advanced English: I had a low-key weekend.

In the above example, the word ‘quiet’ is Standard English and it’s replaced by the word ‘low-key’ which is Advanced English.


 4.            Standard English: We don’t talk anymore.

               Advanced English: We no longer engage in verbal confabulations.

In the above example, the word ‘talk’ is replaced by verbal confabulations.


 5.             Standard English: What do you want to do in the last years of your life?

                Advanced English: What do you want to do in your twilight years?

   In the above example, the word ‘last’ is replaced by ‘twilight’.


6.            Standard English: I promise; I’ll keep it a secret.

               Advanced English: My lips are sealed.
